  • Microsoft Teams – new message center posts:

 

Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile: New "Call my phone" feature MC791882 Published May 11, 2024

Coming soon for Teams Phone Mobile (TPM). A new Call my phone feature will allow TPM users (iOS, Android) to transfer an active call from the Teams app to their cell phone dialer on their SIM-enabled device, with no interruption to the call. Teams will use the user's Audio Conferencing Subscription service to connect with the user's cell phone dialer. This rollout will apply to calls to one person (and will not apply to group calls).

Microsoft Teams: Manage Do Not Disturb presence status when screen sharing MC791879 Published May 11, 2024

We are introducing a user setting to prevent automatic transition to Do Not Disturb (DND) while presenting in a Microsoft Teams call on web.

Microsoft Teams: Unified settings and policies management in Teams admin center MC791599 Published May 9, 2024

To simplify Microsoft Teams IT administration, we are introducing a Unified settings and policies management experience in the Microsoft Teams admin center. Now, you'll find the search, locate, and manage settings and policies in one place, which means you won’t have to search under multiple locations in TAC to manage Teams for your users, groups, and organization.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early June 2024 and expect to complete by early July 2024.

Microsoft Teams: Explicit consent for recording data in audit logs MC791598 Published May 9, 2024

Microsoft Teams: As a part of this change, IT admins would see Teams Meeting Recording audit logs enriched with the consent data. The consent data would flow into audit logs irrespective of the Teams Meeting policy for attendance report. Today, the consent data is visible only in the attendance report. This change improves auditing of consent data for Teams Meetings.

Microsoft Teams: Avatars wardrobe updates available soon MC791597 Published May 9, 2024

In Microsoft Teams, new professional wardrobe styles are coming to the Avatar builder. Refresh your avatar's look in the Avatars app with the latest updates for your next meeting.

Microsoft Teams: Easier discoverability of Workflows templates MC791450 Published May 9, 2024

In Microsoft Teams, when a Workflow card is received in chats or channels, users can now easily identify the workflow template that was used.

Microsoft Teams: Draggable Presenter Toolbar when screensharing MC791109 Published May 8, 2024

Introducing a new draggable version of the Presenter Toolbar in Microsoft Teams that gives presenters more control over the shared screen space. Presenters can customize the location of the Presenter Toolbar based on the layout of the content being shared.

Microsoft Teams: Town hall Graph APIs MC790797 Published May 6, 2024

Microsoft Teams Live Events is replaced by a Teams Town Hall that allows users to create live events built on the meeting infrastructure. Town Hall will be backed by new Microsoft Graph application programming interfaces (APIs) that we expect to release at the end of May, 2024. These new Graph Town Hall APIs will help organizations programmatically do the following:

  • Get, create, update, publish, and cancel Town Halls.
  • Get and list Town Hall sessions.
  • Get, list, create, and delete Town Hall presenters.
  • Create or update Town Hall presenter profile photos.

Microsoft Teams: New file image previews in messages MC790792 Published May 6, 2024

Coming soon in Microsoft Teams: An enhanced content consumption experience in Teams chats and channels. We are about to release a series of features that will help you to identify, consume, and act on content such as files, lists, and SharePoint pages/posts. In this first release in the series, we will roll out file image previews in chats and channels, to help users better identify a file in the conversation stream. When a file (such as a JPG or PNG image file, a Microsoft PowerPoint file, or a PDF) is attached to a message in chat or a channel, users will see a small image of the file without opening the file.

Microsoft Teams: Changes to in-app feedback experience and feedback policy (Teams Desktop and Teams for web) MC790791 Published May 6, 2024

Coming soon: We will be rolling out updates to the in-app feedback (Give Feedback/Suggest a Feature) in Microsoft Teams for Desktop and Teams for the web to add a new Feedback option on the Settings and more menu. As a part of this rollout, Teams for Desktop and Teams for the web will stop using Microsoft Teams feedback policies and switch to Cloud Policy service for Microsoft 365.

Microsoft Viva: Enhanced capabilities for spotlight in Viva Connections! MC791602 Published May 9, 2024

Microsoft Viva: We’re excited to announce that Viva Connections is enhancing its spotlight capabilities, providing operators with more control over the content displayed in the spotlight section.

Spotlight currently features a total of 11 slots for content display, with the enhanced update allowing for a greater variety of content to be shared in the section between 'pinned items' and SharePoint news posts. Pinned items will always be displayed first and shown to every user in the Connections experience, giving operators the ability to highlight the most important content. The remaining slots will dynamically populate with news content from the SharePoint News Source(s) selected by the operator and will continue to follow boosted news priority and audience targeting settings. This enhancement will be specifically for the desktop experience of Viva Connections, ensuring a seamless blend of prioritized content and dynamic news updates, providing users with a rich and engaging experience.

Microsoft Viva: Copilot assisted hours update in Microsoft Copilot dashboard MC790788 Published May 6, 2024

Microsoft Viva: We are rolling out an update for Copilot assisted hours in the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard. For customers with a Viva or a Viva Insights subscription, the Copilot Dashboard will provide a breakdown of employees’ actions in Copilot that contribute to their company’s total Copilot assisted hours. There is no change to the existing metric calculation. Customers will have the additional ability to view the underlying details for Copilot assisted hours with this change.
