Microsoft Teams: Users can join town hall
and webinars using Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) codes MC1070183
Published May 8, 2025
Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Organizers and
presenters will be able to join town halls, webinars, and structured meetings
seamlessly using a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) code. Organizers
and co-organizers can share the dial-in codes to presenters from the event
scheduling form. They can also call presenters from the roster as well. Once
connected, presenters will automatically join the Waiting Room for attendees
and then an organizer or co-organizer can promote presenters from the roster to
the green room or the live session, to help ensure a smooth and efficient
experience.
This message applies to Teams for Windows
desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, Teams for the web, and Teams for iOS/Android.

Microsoft Teams: CVI coordinates enables
presenters to join Town hall via VTC devices MC1070182
Published May 8, 2025
Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Organizations
that do not currently use Teams will be able to join and present in Teams town
halls using their own video conferencing devices. Because we have incorporated
Cloud Video Interop (CVI) capabilities into the event form, organizers can
receive join codes for their tenant and share the codes to presenters, allowing
them to easily join the event. This rollout ensures that all presenters can
join the green room and can see and hear each other without any limitations.
Only trusted CVI devices can join the session. After they join, a meeting
organizer or co-organizer can promote the device from attendee to presenter,
and then they can communicate with other presenters in the green room before
the event starts.
This message applies to Teams for Windows
desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for the web.
Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out
early May 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025.
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin
rolling out mid-May 2025 and expect to complete by late May 2025.

Before this rollout, organizers are unable to
capture real-time feedback using polls in Microsoft Teams town halls.
After this rollout, organizers with the Teams
Premium license will be able to create and share polls in Teams town halls
using the Polls app, gathering real-time feedback from participants through
multiple-choice questions and other types of polls.
This message applies to Teams for Windows
desktop and Teams for Mac desktop.

Microsoft Teams: Send messages to attendees
in the meeting lobby with Lobby chat MC1069555
Published May 7, 2025
Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Meeting
organizers and co-organizers will be able to send one-way messages to attendees
in the meeting lobby using the Lobby chat. The Lobby chat is intended to
optimize the lobby experience for all participants, ensuring that organizers
are better equipped to run external meetings and external attendees are well
informed about the meeting when it begins. This feature is on by default and
admins can choose to disable it in the Teams admin center (TAC).
This message applies to Teams on Windows
desktop, Teams on Mac desktop, and Teams for iOS/Android.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365
Roadmap ID 480716.
Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out
mid-June 2025 and expect to complete by late June 2025.

Microsoft Teams: Microsoft 365 Copilot for
phone without transcription MC1068906
Published May 6, 2025
We are releasing a new feature that enables
users to leverage Copilot's capabilities during live call sessions without
retaining transcripts or an audio recording afterward. This ensures that users
can benefit from Copilot during sensitive conversations where a persistent
record is not desired. Post-call Copilot functions, such as recap, will not be
available after the call concludes.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365
Roadmap ID 482745.
General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will
begin rolling out early June 2025 and expect to complete by late June 2025.
Microsoft Teams for iOS/Android: Walkie Talkie
app will move to the three-dot menu if users separate chats and channels MC1068900
Published May 6, 2025
Note: If you are not using frontline worker
functionality, you can safely ignore this message.
Before this rollout: The Walkie Talkie app is
pinned by default on the app bar at the bottom of the screen in Microsoft Teams
for iOS/Android. After this rollout, the Walkie Talkie app will move to the
three-dot More menu in Teams for iOS/Android if users choose to separate their
chats and channels (chats and channels are combined by default in the new
chats and channels experience). To keep the Walkie Talkie app in the app
bar, admins can either create a custom app policy or users can choose to
combine chats and channels.
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin
rolling out early May 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025.
