the team, with no restrictions on the name. The first channel, if named
"General" (in English), will follow the behavior as General in any
other teams.

Updated April 4, 2025: We have updated the
timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
You can now use speaker recognition, transcript
attribution, and AI capabilities in Teams Rooms on Android. Intelligent speaker
functionalities are brought to existing speakers via the cloud. This feature
identifies and attributes people in live transcripts, utilizing a unique voice
profile for each participant enabling intelligent recaps and maximum value from
Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams Premium in meetings. Users can easily and
securely enroll voices via Teams Settings. This feature requires a Teams Rooms
Pro license.
Users can enroll voices in the Teams Desktop.

Update: Ensuring Security and Compliance - Keep

Versions of the new Teams client that were
released more than 90 days ago will be blocked. An in-app warning banner will
show up 60 days before the app is blocked (30 days for VDI).
- Users will see blocking page
- Starting April 11th, 2025, for users using the Windows desktop app
- Starting May 6th, 2025, for users using the Teams app in VDI
environment
- Starting May 15th, 2025, for users using the Mac desktop app
- Users will see warning banner starting 60 days before they are
blocked (for VDI environments only, users will see it 30 days before they
are blocked)
Microsoft Teams: Sensitivity labels on
collaborative meeting notes and Microsoft Loop components MC1047250

Coming soon: New security features for
Microsoft Loop in Microsoft Teams for organizations that have enabled
sensitivity labels (also known as Microsoft Information Protection or MIP).
Before this rollout, Microsoft Loop supports
users or admins adding file-level sensitivity labels on all .loop files
(including Loop components, Loop pages, and Microsoft Copilot Pages) in the
Loop app (on the web and for iOS/Android) and new Microsoft Outlook for Windows
and Outlook for the web, classic Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, Outlook
on Android and iOS.
Copilot Pages is included in Microsoft 365
licenses.
After this rollout, we will support file-level
sensitivity labels in Loop components and collaborative meeting notes in Teams
for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, Teams for the web, and Teams for
iOS/Android.
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin
rolling out in early April 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025.
Microsoft Teams: New town hall event access

Before this rollout, Microsoft Teams has one
admin policy to control event access for webinars and town halls. After this
rollout, admins can control who can attend town halls in their organization
with the new policy setting TownhallEventAccessType.

that allows users to view incoming calls in a small window in Teams to prevent
disruptions. Users will be able to take a call in the small window and continue
to see what they were working on before the call.

Microsoft Teams: Room Recommender MC1045219

With this rollout, if no room is booked for the
meeting, an AI-generated room suggestion will be sent in the meeting chat an
hour before the meeting start time when two or more attendees are co-located in
the same building, making in-person collaboration easier. The room suggestion
will consider location of participants, room availability, and capacity to find
the best space. You can reserve the suggested room with just one click and
update the invite for everyone. The organizer must have a Teams premium license
for this experience to occur, which is on Teams mobile on iOS.

Microsoft Viva Pulse: Generate a summary for

Microsoft Viva Pulse authors will be able to
view a summary generated with Microsoft 365 Copilot to gain a quick
understanding of their Pulse reports. The Copilot-generated summary will also
be included in the notifications to Pulse authors, who can draft an author's
note and share the Copilot summary and Pulse report with team members.

desktop, Pulse for Mac desktop, Pulse on the web, and Pulse for iOS/Android.

Microsoft Viva Engage: Update on deletion of
private unlisted communities in external networks MC1046150

(Updated) Microsoft Viva Engage: Private unlisted groups in external networks
will retire and be deleted in January 2025 (published August 20, 2024, updated
February 2025), Microsoft Viva Engage is no longer supporting private unlisted
communities (sometimes called "secret groups"). Retirement of these
private unlisted communities is in progress. Users can no longer:
- Create private unlisted communities in external networks
- Participate in private unlisted communities in external networks
Microsoft Viva Connections cards in SharePoint

Microsoft SharePoint agents will now bring Viva
Connections cards to conversations. When a card is relevant for a specific
topic, it will surface in the conversation chat, allowing users to interact
with it directly from SharePoint agents without interrupting their flow.

Microsoft Viva Engage: Private content mode
will retire as of June 30th, 2025 MC1045211

In alignment with Microsoft 365 core workload
administration best practices private content mode will be retired as of June
30th, 2025. This feature has been utilized for specific use cases related to
Viva Engage administration and management, and we have outlined alternative
solutions for these scenarios in the communication below. This applies to
Engage on web, Engage on Teams and Engage on outlook.
