  • Microsoft Teams – new message center posts:

 

Microsoft Teams: Walkie Talkie will be integrated with Apple’s iOS Push-to-Talk feature MC787359 Published Apr 26, 2024

Microsoft Teams will enhance its Walkie Talkie feature on iOS by integrating with Apple's Push-to-Talk (PTT) framework, improving communication capabilities.

Teams Walkie Talkie on iOS will be integrated with Apple's Push-to-Talk framework to enhance communication and convenience of transmitting audio from anywhere on their phone, even when Teams is not in the foreground. It will enable audio transmission directly from the lock screen and comes with background runtime optimization for optimal performance while conserving battery life.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out late April 2024 and expect to complete by early May 2024.

 

Microsoft Teams (work or school) application on Windows will be renamed to Microsoft Teams MC786324 Published Apr 26, 2024

Starting in May 2024, important changes will affect Microsoft Teams for Microsoft Windows. Tenant admins should be aware of these changes. New Teams on Windows will be changing its name from “Microsoft Teams (work or school)” to “Microsoft Teams”.

The Microsoft Teams personal application on Windows 11 will also be renamed to “Microsoft Teams – personal” if installed on users’ devices. These changes are in preparation for the unified Microsoft Teams application update that will allow users to log in to the Microsoft Teams application with any account type – work, school, or personal. Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out early May 2024 and expect to complete by mid-May 2024.

Microsoft Teams: Auto Attendant will be integrated with main Address Book search MC785026 Published Apr 24, 2024

At Microsoft, we are committed to providing a consistent user experience across our products and protecting your data. As part of this commitment, we are integrating Auto Attendant search with the main Address Book search of Microsoft products. After this rollout, Auto Attendant Address Book search results will be aligned with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft product searches, and your tenant Address Book settings in Exchange will start to affect searches performed via Auto Attendant service.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late May 2024 and expect to complete by late June 2024.

Microsoft Teams: Introducing slash commands in the compose box MC785024 Published Apr 24, 2024

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: New slash commands in the compose message box. These shortcuts help in composing messages, navigating in Teams, and tackling frequent tasks. This rollout applies to Teams on Desktop, Teams for the Web, and Teams for Mac.

Microsoft Viva Learning: New content updates in Viva Learning and Copilot Academy MC786327 Published Apr 26, 2024

Microsoft Viva Learning: Microsoft Copilot Academy is adding more learning resources for its users. These resources will automatically be available to the users who have Copilot Academy.Microsoft Copilot Academy will soon be accessible in seven additional languages, in addition to English (United States). These languages include:

  • French (France)
  • German (Germany)
  • Italian (Italy)
  • Japanese (Japan)
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Spanish (Spain)
  • Chinese (Simplified)

When users access the Copilot Academy in any of these supported languages, the platform will automatically load the appropriate language interface. Instructions for Admins: In order to enable/disable Copilot Academy, use the single toggle available in the Manage Academies page.Viva Learning is bringing new handpicked courses from across the web for you to discover within Viva Learning. These will be available out-of-box under External content provider, enabled by default.Learners can discover the new content under the External content provider carousel on the Home page. Instructions for Admins: In order to disable the External content provider, go to Admin tab in Viva Learning and use the single toggle available under the Manage providers section.
