Announcement!

I was laid off from Microsoft this week. It is a bit sad of course, but I am in good mood since I had a good run at Microsoft. I started at Microsoft as a Skype for Business consultant in 2016 before Teams was invented. Over the last five years I have been supporting the amazing Teams product in several roles such as Program Manager, Cloud Solution Architect and Customer Success Manager.

  • Microsoft Teams – new message center posts:

 

 

Microsoft Teams: Compact notification size for users MC1107491 Published Jul 1, 2025

We’re introducing a new compact toast notification size in Microsoft Teams for Windows. This update gives users the option to reduce the visual footprint of notifications, offering a cleaner, more minimalist experience that helps reduce screen clutter and distractions.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 496175.

Targeted Release: Rolling out early July 2025, expected to complete by mid-July 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide): Rolling out mid-July 2025, expected to complete by late July 2025.

General Availability (GCC, GCC High, DoD): Rolling out late July 2025, expected to complete by late July 2025.

 

Microsoft Teams: First run experience and prompting users to release previous reservations MC1106876 Published Jun 30, 2025

Prior to this rollout, if a user plugged into a different desk than their existing desk reservation, they would be automatically reserved at the desk, provided there was capacity. This could lead to them having multiple desk reservations. With this roll out, when using bookable desks, users will be notified that they have multiple reservations and be asked to release the previous ones. In addition, we will also be releasing a first run experience to provide the user with more information on why they are receiving notifications to provide further clarity and information.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC) for first run experience: We will begin rolling out mid-July 2025 and expect to complete by early August 2025.

Microsoft Viva | Viva Engage: Streamlined verified answers for community experts MC1108837 Published Jul 3, 2025

We’re simplifying the answer verification experience in Viva Engage by consolidating the options available to community experts into a single, streamlined action. This update reduces decision fatigue and promotes consistency in how answers are validated across communities.

This message applies to the following platforms: Teams and Surface Devices, and Web.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-July 2025 and expect to complete by late July 2025.

 

Microsoft Viva Engage: Introducing segmentation for personalized experiences (preview) MC1108827 Published Jul 3, 2025

We’re introducing segmentation support in Microsoft Viva Engage to help organizations deliver more relevant and personalized experiences. This feature allows customers to isolate the Engage experience by department, geography, or other organizational compartments.

Private Preview (Worldwide): Starting end of June 2025 we will make the experience available to interested customers.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late September 2025 and expect to complete by late September 2036.

 

Update to Question Posting in Viva Engage Answers Tab MC1108128 Published Jul 2, 2025

To improve discoverability and ensure questions reach the right experts, we’re updating how questions are posted from the Answers tab in Viva Engage.

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will be completed in mid-July 2025.

 

Viva Engage will soon support 14 more languages MC1108127 Published Jul 2, 2025

Viva Engage is adding support for 11 new languages and 3 regional variants, making the platform more inclusive and accessible for global users. This update enhances communication and collaboration across multilingual teams.

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in mid-July 2025 and is expected to complete by late July 2025.
