Audio and video flyout and settings in Teams
meetings MC699715 · Published Dec 19, 2023
Audio and Video flyouts in Teams enable users
to efficiently manage their audio and video settings during meetings. These
features are easily accessible, allowing users to control their devices and
adjust key audio and video features quickly and effortlessly, without needing
to navigate through multiple layers of settings.
Users can access this feature in 3 ways:
During a meeting, you can access the audio
flyout and video flyout by clicking the split button with a downward arrow
right next to 'camera' and 'microphone' in the meeting toolbar.
From both the audio and video flyouts, you can
access audio settings and video settings, which open as panels on the right
side of the calling window. You can access these settings by clicking 'more
video options' and 'more audio options' at the bottom of the flyout to open the
side panel.
Users can also access 'audio settings' and
'video effects and settings' by clicking the 'more' menu in the meeting
toolbar:
Audio settings: “More” menu > Audio settings
Video effects and settings: “More” menu >

content below. Thank you for your feedback.
With the launch of Collaborative Notes, we’re
also improving the shareable link type that is created by Collaborative Notes
to help make meetings more effective and secure. The new Collaborative Notes
file will now support a Specific people link which offers more controlled
access than People in your organization link. This change will automatically
align the Collaborative Notes file link type with customer's default setup.
Customers who previously had Collaborative Notes disabled due to lack of People
in your organization link support can now enable and use the feature.

updated Dec 18, 2023
Updated December 18, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Cloud IntelliFrame is a new experience that
allows online meeting attendees to see people in Teams Rooms more clearly,
enhancing the hybrid meeting experience by creating smart video feeds of
in-room participants. The smart video feed is created by zooming into their faces
and eliminating distractions. You can see the expressions and gestures of the
people in the room more easily, which will help improve collaboration in hybrid
meetings. It creates equity in hybrid meetings as everyone can be seen and
heard.
Cloud IntelliFrame will be rolling out across
Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows with Pro license and can be viewed on
Microsoft Teams Desktop (Windows & Mac) with any license.

Updates to adding topics to posts in Viva
Engage MC700930
· Published Dec 22, 2023
New developments to adding topics to posts
within Answers
in Viva are being extended to all topic experiences in Viva Engage
(Yammer). Adding topics to posts helps improve the visibility, engagement, and
organization of content.
These updates will help employees select a
topic by providing more topics to choose from, coaching tips, and additional
room for supporting topic information. Questions will also have the topics
field open by default to help encourage the use of topics on questions and
drive higher likelihood of a response.
For this rollout, only Viva
Engage tenants migrated to Topics in Viva will see these updates. Topics in
Viva Engage are available for all Viva Engage users with or without a Topics
license. Individuals licensed
for Topics in Viva will gain premium benefits, such as access to topic
cards when hovering over a topic, access to topic pages, access to AI mined
topics, and use of the premium topic management experiences.
Note: If you organization is not using Viva
Engage you can safely disregard this message.
Why is this change happening?
Answers in Viva is expanding to Viva Engage
communities. To align experiences for Viva Engage users and to extend the value
of new developments to a wider audience, we are extending updates to topic
picking to all networks that have been migrated to use Topics in Viva.
Last year, we announced the General
Availability of Topics for Viva Engage. In support of this change, topic
migrations began for Viva Engage networks in Native
mode and will continue until all Viva Engage networks have migrated to use
Topics in Viva. The migration to Topics in Viva creates a consolidated set of
topics for use across Microsoft 365 and helps capture and share knowledge from
all experiences using Viva Topics.

Roadmap ID 374596
Standard Release: Updated topic picking
experiences will begin rolling out in January 2024 and will continue to
roll out to all Viva Engage networks in Native mode that have been migrated to
use Topics in Viva.

Reminder: Use Microsoft Teams to produce Yammer
Live Events (Formerly Yammer live events) MC699713
· Published Dec 19, 2023
This is an important message for customers who
use Stream to host live events in Viva Engage (formerly Yammer).
We're reminding you that Stream live events
will be retired on Jan 31, 2024. Microsoft Teams live events, with encoder
support is your new platform to host and run live events.
This message was originally sent on February 9,
2023, and then on August 30, 2023, in the Message Center post MC513603 titled
“Use Microsoft Teams to produce Yammer live events”.
Teams live events with encoder support is the
replacement service to Stream live events. Teams live events allow you to
create, host and produce live events with the same functionality that you get
with Stream. It also supports Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) input, which
lets you create highly polished events that feature combined live streams,
screen overlays, on-screen data and more.
You will be able to use Stream live events in
Viva Engage until January 31, 2024, and after that live events must be produced
using Teams live events. In January 2023, the Stream options to produce live
events will be removed from Viva Engage.
Just like with Stream live events, there are
two ways in which you can use Teams live events to produce events in Viva
Engage:
Microsoft Teams QuickStart: Use the Microsoft
Teams desktop client to produce your event, generally used in producing simple
events.
Microsoft Teams external app or device: Use
this to produce large-scale events, such an executive town hall, where a single
stream from a media mixer is broadcast to an audience.
Once the live event is completed, the video, if
recorded, is stored in the SharePoint library of the community where the event
was produced.
The Stream live events options will be
removed from your tenant on January 31, 2024.
Viva Engage Community Managers will only be
able to create live events only using the new Teams options. The Stream live
events options will be removed.
