Changes to the Website tab in the new Teams
client. MC708500
· Published Jan 20, 2024
Starting April 2024, Microsoft Teams will be
retiring the ability to load websites inside the new Teams client when using
the Website tab. These website links will open in a new browser tab instead.
This is to better align with emerging best practices in web security and
privacy while also improving the reliability of websites opened through this
feature.
Please note that EDU tenants will not be
impacted as we are still researching options on how to best provide a
non-disruptive way to access websites for students and educators at a later
date.
We will begin rolling out this change in early
April 2024.

(Updated) Teams Live Event capacity limit
extension MC698896
· Published Dec 16, 2023 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: Customers in
Microsoft 365 operated by 21Vianet can safely disregard this message. We
apologize for the inconvenience.
Microsoft had previously instituted temporary
capacity increases for Teams live events that were set to expire on December
31, 2023. This included increasing the Live Event capacity from 10,000
attendees to up to 20,000 attendees, increasing the concurrency limit from 15
to 50 simultaneous events, and increasing the Live Event duration from 4 hours
to 16 hours. To ensure administrators have adequate time to train their user
base, we are extending the timeline for these capacity limit increases for
Teams Live Events to now expire on June 30, 2024.
Until June 30, 2024, you will be able to run
Teams Live Events of up to 20,000 attendees, have up to 50 of these Live Events
run simultaneously, and have your Live Events run for up to 16 hours.
(Updated) Stream App in Microsoft Teams will
be updated to Stream (on SharePoint) MC686279
· Published Oct 31, 2023 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: Customers in
Microsoft 365 operated by 21Vianet can safely disregard this message. We
apologize for the inconvenience.
We are transitioning the Stream experience in
the desktop client of Microsoft Teams from Stream (Classic) to Stream (on
SharePoint). Once transitioned the Stream app in Microsoft Teams will display
only Stream (on SharePoint) content--it will no longer display Stream (Classic)
content. The new Stream (on SharePoint) app in Teams will feature similar
content and features as found on the Stream start page.
The Stream app is currently accessible across
multiple touchpoints on Teams, including the Stream app on Teams left rail,
Stream on Teams message extension, and the Stream Tab on Chats/Channels. You
can find the app by tapping the three dots on the Teams left rail and then
search for Stream. As a first step, Stream app on Teams left rail will be
updated to Stream (on Sharepoint). This updated version of Stream app will
allow users to access the Stream start page within Teams, and quickly find and
watch videos without switching apps. Users will have the option to pin the
Stream app on the side panel for more convenient access in the future.
In the coming months, we will also transition
the Stream app for Teams web and Teams mobile.
Standard Release: We will begin rolling out
early November 2023 and expect to complete by mid-December 2023
(previously mid-November).
(Updated) Specific People Link Support for
Collaborative Notes MC694130
· Published Nov 29, 2023 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: We have updated the
content below with additional information. Thank you for your patience.
With the launch of Collaborative Notes, we’re
also improving the shareable link type that is created by Collaborative Notes
to help make meetings more effective and secure. The new Collaborative Notes
file will now support a Specific people link which offers more controlled
access than People in your organization link. This change will automatically
align the Collaborative Notes file link type with customer's default setup.
Customers who previously had Collaborative Notes disabled due to lack of People
in your organization link support can now enable and use the feature.
Note: The user will have access to notes if notes
were created after the user was nudged. If notes pre-existed, then the user
must request access.

· Published Dec 12, 2023 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Today, users go through multiple steps,
selecting between options while creating teams. However, most users are
inclined towards setting up their team from scratch and as private. Hence, we
defaulted to a simpler experience, yet giving users the rich options of
creating a team from a template or group and selecting privacy/sensitivity of
the team. It is a simple by default, power on demand experience.

(Updated) Audio and video flyout and
settings in Teams meetings MC699715
· Published Dec 19, 2023 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: Known issue: Mac
users may experience an issue where changes to device selection in the Mac
operating system are not reflected in Teams. A temporary workaround is
available by manually selecting the desired device within Teams using the audio
and video flyouts or panels. This issue will be fully resolved by early
February.
Audio and Video flyouts in Teams enable users
to efficiently manage their audio and video settings during meetings. These
features are easily accessible, allowing users to control their devices and
adjust key audio and video features quickly and effortlessly, without needing
to navigate through multiple layers of settings.
Users can access this feature in 3 ways:
- During a meeting, you can access the audio flyout and video flyout
by clicking the split button with a downward arrow right next to 'camera'
and 'microphone' in the meeting toolbar.
- From both the audio and video flyouts, you can access audio
settings and video settings, which open as panels on the right side of the
calling window. You can access these settings by clicking 'more video
options' and 'more audio options' at the bottom of the flyout to open the
side panel.
- Users can also access 'audio settings' and 'video effects and
settings' by clicking the 'more' menu in the meeting toolbar:
- Audio settings: “More” menu > Audio settings
- Video effects and settings: “More” menu > “Video effects and
settings”

(Updated) Quick Access Teams and Sharepoint
Document Libraries in win32 backstage MC432475
· Published Sep 16, 2022 · Last updated Jan 19, 2024
Updated January 19, 2024: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. We apologize for the delayed communication. Thank you
for your patience.
Currently, users experience some frustration
when using Office products because of all different routes that they must use
to access all their content. The Quick Access feature will allow users to
access shared libraries from both their SharePoint and Teams locations. When
the user opens files from shared libraries, these libraries will show up in the
form of a list which will encourage users to save and open files to these
libraries with ease. This helps deliver a more consistent, coherent storage
location experience across M365 apps. This new backstage experience won’t show
up in Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive but does include storage locations from
OneDrive and Teams (sites/channels) which are stored on SharePoint.
Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out
late January 2024 (previously late October) and expect to complete by late
February 2024 (previously late November).
Standard Release: We will begin rolling out
mid-March 2024 (previously late December) and expect to complete by
mid-April 2024 (previously late January).

Microsoft Viva Engage: New feature to limit
moving of conversations across communities MC708076
· Published Jan 18, 2024
Starting in January 2024, Microsoft Viva Engage
customers will see a new setting to prevent users from moving conversations
into a community.
Community or Engage admins may want to limit
the movement of conversations between communities in the network. The new limit
move conversation feature helps with that goal. When applied, users cannot move
conversations into a community. All users can move conversations out of a
community. Regardless of setting status, admins retain the ability to move a
conversation anywhere in the network.
The limit move conversation feature is a toggle
on a community’s Settings page. The toggle is available per community.
Community admins can use the toggle for communities they manage. Engage admins
can adjust the setting in any community.
This feature is only available in the community
settings in the Viva Engage web/desktop experience and in Outlook and Teams
apps. Mobile apps and the Classic Engage (Yammer) experiences will not see this
new setting.
Networks will begin to see the limit move
conversation feature in community settings starting January 2024. Full
rollout will complete by the end of March 2024.
