(Updated) Microsoft Teams: Proactive
Monitoring of Meeting Quality Using Real-time Telemetry (Premium) MC669479
· Published Aug 21, 2023 · Last updated Sep 6, 2023
Updated September 6, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
The Real-Time Analytics feature in the Teams
admin center allows admins to view their users' meetings and identify issues
related to audio, video, content sharing, and network connectivity. As an
admin, you can use this information to investigate and address any problems
with the meeting experience while the meeting is ongoing. Currently, the
troubleshooting process for admins is manual and requires continuous admin
involvement. The admin or engineer must search for a user, access their call
history, identify ongoing meetings or live events they are participating in,
and then search for the specific information needed to troubleshoot issues.
However, with the introduction of Proactive Monitoring Notifications for
In-Progress meetings, admins can efficiently monitor multiple meetings
simultaneously for important users in their organization. This functionality
enables admins to monitor audio, video, and app-sharing experiences based on
various parameters and receive alerts if there are any issues with a user's
meeting experience.
This feature is part of the Teams premium
add-on SKU. All admins will see the feature within the Teams admin center, but
for users to be configured and enabled for monitoring notifications they are
required to have a Teams Premium license assigned for this feature to work.

(Updated) Power Automate app changing name
to "Workflows" within Microsoft Teams MC671824
· Published Aug 29, 2023 · Last updated Sep 6, 2023
Updated September 6, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
To provide a unified workflow experience within
Microsoft Teams we will be merging the existing Workflows app with the Power
Automate app. With this merger the Power Automate app will be changing its name
to "Workflows".
There will be no change to user experience
within the app. Users will still be able to manage all their flows within the
app along with browsing workflow templates or creating a new flow from scratch.
Whether you have existing workflows in the Power Automate app or the Workflows
app your workflows will persist in the new unified app. Users will still be
able to configure new workflows through the various app entry points (tab, bot,
message extension, message action, personal app).

Microsoft Teams will be bringing workflows
powered by Power Automate into the overflow menu for channels and replacing the
Connectors option within the menu.
To make sure Microsoft Teams provides the best
workflow experience for our users we are making it easier to configure
workflows for channels. From the list of channels users will be able to go into
the overflow menu for a specific channel (...) and select
"Workflows". Here they will see a list of workflow templates specific
to channels within Teams. Users can then configure these templates to their
needs and deploy them to the channel.

(Updated) Microsoft Default for Tag

updated Sep 6, 2023
Updated September 6, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
We are updating Microsoft Default setting to
Team Owners and Members for Teams Tag Management settings in Teams Admin
Center.
If you have already explicitly made a selection
to your Tag Management settings your tenant will not be affected by this
change.
If you have not made changes to Tag Management
settings, Microsoft Default settings will apply for your tenant. Microsoft
Default settings currently map to "Team Owners" value but this update
will change it to "Team Owners and Members".
As Admin, please set tag management settings to
reflect tenant-level preference. Select “Team Owners” to keep tag management
limited to Team Owners, or select “Team owners and members” to allow all team
members to create and edit tags.
In Teams client, users will still see the same
options as they do today: "Team Owners" and "Team owners and
members".

Microsoft Viva: Answers in Viva - AI Topic
Suggestions MC673711
· Published Sep 5, 2023
With the help of AI topic extraction, we can
offer suggested topics based on the user's question. Our AI topic extraction
recommends up to 3 topics to add to one's question based on what they wrote.
These can be existing Viva topics or newly generated ones that the user can
create and add. The user still must select and add our AI suggested topic since
they do not automatically get attached to the question. The user can also still
search and add their own topic and choose not to use our AI suggested topics.
