New Indicator “EA” on Profile Picture for
Microsoft Teams Public Preview users MC532194
· Published 23 Mar 2023
Microsoft Teams Public Preview provides early
access to pre-release features for product quality, internal planning, adoption
& training readiness before they roll out to the rest of their company.
There are no program requirements or commitments. This is an opt-in channel
controlled via IT admin policy.
Up until today, users who were enrolled in
Public Preview had a “P” next to their profile picture, however, that will
change to “EA” indicating users have Early Access to Teams features.
This feature is now available for Preview.
(Updated) Autosuggest location for Emergency
location MC524208
· Published 7 Mar 2023 · Last updated 23 Mar 2023
Updated March 22, 2023: The rollout of this
feature is in progress.
This feature would allow users to easily get
location recommendations for emergency location. Confirming the location via
the autosuggest will mark the location as an assist driving emergency call
directly to PSAP. We will still allow manual location confirmations.

(Updated) Microsoft Teams: Force Public
Preview Setting MC509574
· Published 31 Jan 2023 · Last updated 23 Mar 2023
Updated March 22, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Microsoft Teams Public Preview provides early
access to pre-release features for product quality, internal planning, adoption
& training readiness before they roll out to the rest of their company.
Public preview is enabled on a per-user basis,
and the option to turn on Public Preview is controlled via Teams admin policy
as described here: Microsoft Teams Public Preview
Today, when admins enable this policy for an
end user, that user needs to opt-in via Teams app to get into Public Preview.
We are adding a new value named ‘Forced’ for this policy that will allow IT admins
to move users to Public Preview without having users to opt-in to Public
Preview via Teams app.
We will begin rolling out early March and
expect to complete by the late March (previously mid-March).
Task publishing: Teams activity feed items for
all team members/owners when an urgent task is published to their team MC531736
· Published 22 Mar 2023
What's changing: In response to numerous customer requests,
we're improving visibility when an urgent task is published to a Microsoft
Teams Team. After this feature is rolled out, when an organization uses the
task publishing feature to publish a task with a priority set to Urgent, each
member or owner of the team that receives this task will receive a Teams
activity feed informing them that an urgent task was published to their team.
This will ensure greater visibility for the time-sensitive urgent tasks, such
as product recalls that need to be acted upon at multiple locations as soon as
possible. This will not affect when a user creates an urgent task in the
Planner app for their own team. This change in notification activity is
specific to the special task publishing functionality which must be enabled by
an admin.
What is task publishing: The task publishing feature is
designed for frontline organizations that need work to be completed across
distinct locations (such as stores, clinics, factories, branches). Task
publishing allows business leaders to centrally define a set of tasks to be completed
and distribute a copy of those tasks to tens, hundreds, or thousands of teams
across your organization. Frontline organizations can also monitor the status
of the work during execution. Visit the task publishing documentation to see a
video overview of the feature. You can also view the instructions to set up
task publishing for more information.

Microsoft Teams: Change Call Queue and Auto
Attendant Greetings and Announcements by Authorized Users MC527929
· Published 15 Mar 2023 · Last updated 21 Mar 2023
Updated March 21, 2023: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Changing business conditions often require
adjustments to call queue/auto attendant greetings and announcements. However,
it can be difficult to identify the right Teams admin to make these changes,
and addressing high request volumes can be time-consuming for the responsible
admins. With the introduction of user managed CQ/AA greetings for Teams Phone,
authorized users (as identified by Teams tenant admins) can change greetings
and announcements for their respective call queues and auto attendant directly
from the user’s Teams settings, in the “Calls” settings. To implement this
capability, tenant admins must select permissible greetings/announcement
changes for a voice policy, and then authorize specific users in the Teams
Admin Center.
