PowerPoint Live in Teams: Magnify Slide MC452198 · Published Oct 28, 2022
When a deck is presented via PowerPoint Live in
a Microsoft Teams meeting, all meeting attendees can use the Magnify Slide
feature to privately zoom into the presentation while maintaining full fidelity
of the slide content. When a meeting attendee magnifies a slide, it doesn’t
change how the presenter or the other meeting attendees view the slides. The
“Sync to presenter” button will also appear, which allows the meeting attendee
to resume following the presenter. When the meeting presenter uses the Magnify
Slide feature, the zoomed in presentation content is displayed to all meeting
attendees to see and follow along. The initial roll out of Magnify slide in
PowerPoint Live will only be available for Microsoft Teams Desktop.
There are multiple ways to use this feature in
a Teams Meeting using PPT Live:
- Use the +/- buttons in the (…) menu
- Use Plus or Minus keys or Shift + Plus or Shift + Minus key on the
keyboard (Ensure keyboard focus is on the PowerPoint Live slideshow area)
- Pinch or stretch on the track pad while hovering over the slide
- Pinch or stretch on the slide using a touch screen enabled device
- Use Ctrl + mouse wheel scroll while hovering over the slide

Sign Language View MC450498
· Published Oct 26, 2022
We are introducing a new Sign Language
experience in Teams Meetings to help meeting participants who use sign language
to prioritize interpreters and other sign language users so that they remain
visible in in a static, central location on the meeting stage, with higher
video quality. Specific sign language users inside the organization that you
work with regularly – such as regular interpreters – can be prioritized across
all meetings by adding them to a prioritized signer list under Settings >
Accessibility in the Teams app. Sign language view is a personal, user-level
setting, and is visible only for those who have turned it on. It will not be
shown to the rest of the meeting participants. The feature is presently
available only on Teams Desktop.
Sign Language View addresses three key concerns
raised by Deaf/hard of hearing users:
- It keeps interpreters and other signers in a static location,
unaffected by the dynamic placement of other videos as people enter and
exit a meeting.
- It simplifies the meeting join process by providing settings for
sign language and captioning that persist across all meetings.
- It keeps interpreters and other signers visible and prioritized
even when content is shared.

- Microsoft
365/Viva :
The Viva collections experience now has a
brand-new look where you can configure licenses, roles, and access individual
app configuration pages. Admins will be able to deploy Viva from a common place
within the Microsoft 365 admin center and find guidance on how best to
configure their tenants.
Viva is now discoverable via search making it
easier than ever to discover Viva apps within the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Admins can also navigate to the experience via the setup tab, and then click on
the Viva collection. From the new Viva suite setup page, you can see details
about the Viva apps in your tenant, including plan type and the admins assigned
with permissions to manage a specific app. Now it’s easier than ever to see who
from your organization will help in the deployment journey for Viva
From the Viva suite page admins can navigate to
an individual app page where they can follow a guided dashboard that helps
admins set up and configure the first steps. Upon completing the steps in the
guided dashboard, admins can let the app admin take over management of the app.
When admins feel the need to make any changes
to their app setup page, they can return to the experience which provides the
ability to edit your app’s configuration. Finally improved documentation and
videos make it easy for anyone technical or nontechnical to set up and run Viva
like a seasoned pro. This experience will begin rolling in a targeted release
and arrive to all customers within the next couple months. Get started with the
new experience here and learn how to configure your Viva experience.
