Meeting Category Trends and Details in the Viva
Insights App in Teams and Meeting Category Insights Card in Digest Email MC434658
· Published Sep 19, 2022 · Last updated Oct 21, 2022
Updated October 21, 2022: We have updated the
rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Categories in Outlook and Teams allow users to
easily tag, label, and group calendar events. In the Viva Insights app in
Teams, using meeting category insights in the Effective meetings tab, users can
see a percentage breakdown of how they are distributing their time across their
categories.
An upcoming update to this feature will allow
users to:
See how their meeting time distribution has
changed over the last 3 months, the last 4 weeks, and the next 4 weeks under
meeting trends
View the list of meetings in each category,
with details including meeting name, total time spent, duration of each
instance, and cadence, under meeting details
We are also releasing a new card in the Digest
email from Microsoft Viva that summarizes their meeting category insights. In
this card, users will be able to see up to 3 categories in which they have
spent the most time over the last 4 weeks. This card will show the percentage
of time each category contributed to the user’s total meeting time in the last
4 weeks, as well as how that percentage has changed from the previous 4 weeks.
The explore more button provides an easy way to navigate to meeting category
insights in the Viva Insights app, where users can explore percentage
breakdown, trends, and details.
These features will be available for users who
have a Viva Insights subscription.

New praise compose experience in Teams and
praise trends in Viva Insights MC448356
· Published Oct 21, 2022
Praise in Microsoft Teams is designed to
appreciate the effort that goes into the wide-ranging, collaborative work that
Teams users do. Users can send praise to their colleagues through the messaging
extension pinned to the Teams messaging bar or through the Microsoft Viva
Insights app in Teams. For both, admins can use the Microsoft Teams admin
center to enable/disable Praise.
The praise composer and praise card design will
be updated for all Teams users. The praise composer - accessible through the
messaging extension pinned to the Teams messaging bar or through the Viva
Insights app in Teams - is being refreshed to replace praise badges with emojis,
introduce the ability to select gradient backgrounds. Additionally, in the Viva
Insights app in Teams, praise trends are being introduced, privately surfacing
analytics such as counts of praise sent and received, your top fans and top
praises received.

New home experience for Viva Connections
desktop MC447338
· Published Oct 17, 2022
A new desktop experience is being released for
Viva Connections that’s easier and faster to set up and optimizes content to
deliver a modern employee experience. The new Viva Connections desktop design
serves as a new home experience option that centers essential job tasks,
personalized content, easy access to other Viva experiences, and better aligns
with the mobile experience.
It uses existing assets from your
organization’s home site and Viva Connection’s Dashboard, Feed, and Resources.
If your organization already has Viva Connections set up, you’ll have the
option to choose to keep the existing desktop experiences that features the
home site or to use the new home experience. Learn more about the new Viva
Connections home experience.
Key points:
- If you’ve already set up Viva Connections, existing content will
pre-populate the new home experience.
- If you haven’t set up Viva Connections yet, the default experience
includes starter cards on the Dashboard but otherwise doesn’t impact the
current mobile experience.
- When the new home experience becomes available, there will be an
option to select the default landing experience if your organization
already has a home site.
