Three management areas with improvements

  • Deployment of Teams - Advisor for Teams - step by step guidance to move workloads
  • Security & Compliance - ATP Safe Links in Teams, Audit log search, Information Barriers (ethical walls) also for filesharing, one-day retention policies
  • Manageability - PowerShell, bulk updates with single commands. A certified app catalogue linked from the Admin center. MTR management in the Admin center. 


Teams as a platform, there are now engineering resources available to go out to customers to find opportunities to simplify with Teams.

First Line Workers

  • Shift digitizes the classical work schedule board
  • Taking pictures, annotate and the picture will not be stored on the device.
  • Record and send an audio message.


New features coming in Shifts are

  • Delegated user management
  • SMS sign-in
  • Global sign-out
  • Off-shift access


Customer videos featuring KONE, Uniper, Wavemaker, Clifton, St Lukes, M&S and Fedex. Telstra from Australia came on stage and talked about how they are using Teams FLW solutions.

Microsoft Ignite 2019 - Keynote

Satya Nadella started with welcoming and thanking the 30,000 people who made it to Ignite or was listening in remote. The keynote was about "Tech Intensity" = (Tech Adoption X Tech Capability)^trust. It started out with discussing the Intelligent cloud and Intelligent edge and how it "empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more".

Microsoft will start building 100% renewable energy, Zero-waste operations datacenters and is starting with the ones in Sweden!

The Swedish DCs will be great, and clean!

Satya went on in high speed talking about.


63 minutes Microsoft Teams were first mentioned in the keynote

Teams is "The hub for teamwork" with Private Channels and Multiwindow coming now.

Project Cortex - takes data to knowledge and is used to enhance collaboration.
Introducing Project Cortex Project Cortex is Graph + AI + people + context that will build a knowledge network.

The future of the web - Edge and Bing - The new Edge browser built on Chromium and runs on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows 10 is faster, works with more webpages and have tracking prevention and inPrivate search. Demo of Bing searches that will not be stored in the engine and Searches in internal data using Graph API knowledge. The Release candidate of Edge is available now
