  • Microsoft Teams – new message center posts:

 

Microsoft Teams: Post and reply as "Organizer" in Q&A MC1000272 Published Feb 7, 2025

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Organizers for town halls, webinars, and meetings will be able to post and reply to questions using the title “Organizer” in the Q&A experience, instead of their names. This feature allows organizers to present a unified and official voice when responding to attendee questions.

This message applies to Teams on Windows desktop and Teams on Mac desktop.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out mid-March 2025 and expect to complete by late March 2025.

 

Microsoft Teams: New keyboard shortcut for adding emojis MC1000269 Published Feb 7, 2025

Coming soon: We are excited to announce a new feature in Microsoft Teams that allows users to insert emojis in the compose box by typing a word surrounded by colons. For example, :smile: will turn into the smiling face emoji. Users can soon add any emoji, including custom ones, for faster and easier personal expression.

This feature applies to Teams for Windows desktop and Windows for Mac desktop.

Microsoft Teams Events: Attendees and presenters no longer receive an email when an attendee list is updated MC999446 Published Feb 7, 2025

For Microsoft Teams town halls and webinars, presenters and attendees will no longer receive an updated email every time a presenter is added or removed or when incremental changes are made to the participants list for the event.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High): We will begin rolling out early February 2025 and expect to complete by late February 2025.

 

Microsoft Teams: Queues app to add Monitor, Whisper, Barge, and Takeover MC999443 Published Feb 7, 2025

For Microsoft Teams, in the Queues app, authorized users will be able to enter into a monitoring session for private coaching. They can listen to customer calls, whisper to the agents for private messages, and barge into or takeover the call.

Microsoft Teams: Share files faster in Chat and channels MC998511 Published Feb 6, 2025

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Users will be able to share a file from a Chat conversation, a Chat Shared tab, or a channel post to 1:1 chats, group chats, or channels with fewer clicks. When files are shared, their permissions are maintained, ensuring that recipients have the appropriate access rights. Users can include a message with the shared file and @mention recipients.

Windows 10 End of Support for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows MC997581 Published Feb 5, 2025

Support ends soon for Window 10 on October 14, 2025, and devices will no longer receive security and feature updates. Upgrade your Teams Rooms on Windows devices now to Windows 11 for a smooth transition and get the latest productivity, security, and management features.

  • Microsoft Viva – new message center posts:

 

 

Microsoft Viva: Tenant-wide notification settings moving to Viva Engage Admin center MC998509 Published Feb 6, 2025

We are modernizing the existing admin notification settings in Viva Engage to make admin notification settings and configuration more user-friendly and intuitive within Viva Engage. Previously, the tenant-wide notifications settings for admin configuration opened in legacy web pages. With this update, these notification settings will now appear under Viva Engage Admin center > Tenant settings.

Microsoft Viva Connections: New user-created cards MC998508 Published Feb 6, 2025

Employees will soon be able to create their own link cards that connect to other tools and destinations on the Microsoft Viva Connections dashboard.

Microsoft Viva Engage on the web: New way to access to "Delegate management" feature MC997579 Published Feb 5, 2025

Before this rollout, users accessed the Delegate management feature for Microsoft Viva Engage on the web and Viva Engage in Microsoft Teams from different locations: The gear icon in Viva Engage on the web and the three-dot overflow menu in Teams. After this rollout, users can access the Delegate management feature in Viva Engage on the web from the three-dot overflow menu next to their profile picture, just like they do in Viva Engage in Teams for Windows and Mac desktops.

General Availability (Worldwide): Available now (since mid-January 2025).

 

Microsoft Viva Learning: Archive learning objects in My Learning sections MC997578 Published Feb 5, 2025

In Microsoft Viva learning, users can archive learning objects shown in the My Learning > In-progress section and in the My Learning > Recommendations section of their courses. Users can access the Archive button under the vertical ellipsis (…) on the course tile.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early March 2025 and expect to complete by mid-March 2025.
