Microsoft Teams admin center: App Management Unification Impact report MC982569 Published Jan 18, 2025

We are introducing the App Management Unification Impact report, a new tool that offers administrators a comprehensive preview of changes to app and tenant settings before the implementation of the unified management of Microsoft Teams apps (MC796790). This report brings awareness to the expected changes, enabling admins to adjust settings in Teams admin center or Microsoft 365 admin center before unification is applied. The report is available only in tenants that have migrated to Microsoft App Centric management (MC688930).

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early February 2025 and expect to complete by late February 2025.

 

Microsoft Teams: Updates to iPad Calendar week views MC982564 Published Jan 18, 2025

We’re excited to introduce a new feature that allows admins to discover, monitor, and manage Microsoft Teams Premium on a single page in the Teams admin center (TAC). This enhancement aims to streamline the admin experience and offer top-tier management for Teams Premium.

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: Updates to make meeting transcripts more accurate and reliable. These improvements will also enhance the quality of live captions in Teams, Microsoft Copilot in Teams, and intelligent meeting recap for Microsoft Teams Premium users and users with a Copilot license, ensuring more accurate outputs and enhancing the overall experience of each feature.

Microsoft Teams: New file path in Microsoft SharePoint for email attachments MC981626 Published Jan 16, 2025

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: As part of our ongoing security improvements, we are updating the storage path for attachments sent from any email client using the Send an email to a channel in Microsoft Teams feature in Teams.

(Note: An admin needs to turn on this feature in the Teams admin center > Teams settings > Email integration > Users can send emails to a channel email address)

Microsoft Teams: Allow presenters to moderate Q&A MC980799 Published Jan 16, 2025

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Organizers of town halls and webinars will be able to select and assign presenters to also moderate the Q&A, allowing them to manage and publish questions asked during the event. This feature lets organizers make changes to the group of moderators at any time (before or during the event), and it is available to all users organizing a town hall or webinar.

Microsoft Teams on iOS: New meeting interface and navigate messages hands-free in CarPlay MC979827 Published Jan 15, 2025

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams for iOS: Stay connected on the move with updated support for Apple CarPlay. Teams in CarPlay now includes the ability to use Siri to respond to notifications, send messages to your chats and channels, join Teams meetings, and safely engage in discussions with quick actions like Raise hand.

Microsoft Teams: Live Event scheduling is now available in the new Teams client MC979511 Published Jan 14, 2025

Teams Live Event scheduling is now natively available in the new Teams client. Previously, event organizers were redirected to a web-based scheduling flow, which has now been brought into the New Teams client. This allows organizers to create, edit, and manage event resources all within the newest Teams experience. This is available across desktop, Mac, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Cloud Video Interop (CVI).

Large Events: End Session for Attendees and Return Presenters to Green Room MC978932 Published Jan 14, 2025

Organizers and presenters can now end the session with this new "End Event" button for town halls, webinars, and structured meetings. After selecting this button, attendees will see a message on stage stating that the session has concluded, and presenters will return to the Green Room.

Microsoft Viva Engage: New reply and reaction notifications in Microsoft Teams MC978923 Published Jan 14, 2025

Coming soon for Microsoft Viva Engage: Users will have a new way to engage with the Viva Engage app in Microsoft Teams through new notifications in the Teams Activity feed. This message applies to Teams for the web, Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for iOS/Android.

After this rollout, users with the Engage app installed can be notified in Teams for replies and reactions to their community posts. This new feature helps large organizations stay connected and informed of news, updates, and safety while in Microsoft Teams.

Coming soon: New recommended comments marked as Relevant for you in some conversations in the home feed of the Microsoft Viva Engage web experience. This feature is designed help users find relevant, meaningful responses in large discussion threads.

The recommended comments feature is available to all users with an Engage license and is not a premium feature.

Microsoft Viva Connections: Update to app name MC979826 Published Jan 15, 2025

We are renaming the Viva Connections app to Connections. This change is intended to ensure the app name fits better within Microsoft Teams, preventing it from being truncated.
